    Cant view Desktop using List View----Help

    Hi,
    i cant view Desktop using List View, if i try to then that particular window will frezze. everything else is unaffected. i can view the Desltop folder in Colums and Icon views....i can view every other folder in List view except the Desktop folder
    It is a small problem but its freaking me out.
    any advice greatly appreciated

    Try deleting the .DS_Store file of the desktop (it keeps track of the view options) - simple open a terminal and type this

    rm ~/Desktop/.DS_Store

    Then your desktop should behave normal
