 Hide apps just by clicking I know Command+Alt+Click in the Dock hides all apps but the clicked one. Is there a utility that will let me do this without pressing Command+Alt ?

Check out ASM (Application Switcher Menu) - it’s an nifty Application Switcher but it also has single-application mode for you  http://asm.vercruesse.de/ Have fun!
