creating a partition of free space?

i am on a powerbook g4 667 ... i have one partition for osx, and another 10 gigs of "free" space left when i deleted my ydl linux partitions. however, osx doesnt recognize that i have any of said free space. it recognizes that the drive is 28 gigs, but the only partition it shows is 18. how can i get this free space as a new partition?

thanks

Try pdisk

Insert a Mac OS X Install CD, reboot, then press and hold command, s and c while it's booting. Then it will boot in single user mode from the CD. When it's finished booting, type pdisk and press enter. As a linux user, you should be able to figure out the rest for yourself
