Installing iDVD w/o a system restore

I have a DVDRW and iDVD came w/ my computer. However, i when i reformat, iDVD does not come preinstalled like iTunes etc due to its size. I called apple and they told me that they only way to get it back is to do a system restore. So i did that and got iDVD back fine. However, I would like to konw if there is any other way to get iDVD back w/o the System Restore CDs. I really dont want to have to do system restores everytime I want to reformat. (System Restore is 6CDs, takes up a lot of space on the computer). Is there anyway to extract the install files of iDVD from the system restore.

Thanks

okay, all you have to do is this: create a folder somewhere called 'whatever' and copy all the .dmg files from the six cds to that folder -- as soon as that is done, double click the first dmg file and disk copy will regard the six .dmg files as one disk image and open it accordingly -- after that you can extra iDvd --

good luck with it

THANK YOU!!! I've been needing to install iDVD while I had NO intention to listen to Apple. They said I installed "wrongfully" and that they would walk me through the process of installing properly...I enjoy having OS 9 on one artition and OS X on another, thank you very much...can't wait to do this
