This thread is 7 years old and references a product that is two full revisions behind what you're using.

Are you sure you're seeing the exact, same problem as those above?

And no, a service pack for Adobe GoLive 6.0 will not work with Adobe GoLive 8.0. You would need to look at the downloads and/or support section of Adobe.com to see what updates are available for Adobe GoLive 8.0.

Do you have the last update for 8.0, which updates that to 8.0.1?

Are you running Leopard or newer on your Mac?

If you have problems, Adobe GoLive is probably unfixable when you have Leopard or newer on your Mac.

You can download the 8.0.1 updater for free from Adobe.com.

Hint: Look under the Support menu for "Updates."

ya, i know..sorry, i wasn't clear..
Ive attempted the download several times, and i get a message saying that update failed, but kept proceeding with the other updates it wanted to do, which seemed to go fine.

You may be out of gas, then. GoLive 8 is part of Adobe's Creative Suite 2 series, I believe, and is apparently not compatible with the Leopard operating system:
