Unhappy CD-RW problem

Hi there. I'm trying to put a word document or any document on a blank cd-rw disc. i put it in the drive and nothing happens...no icon or anything...should I be doing something different? Thanks for any help! ) Have a gr8 day & God bless!

Try opening up the program disc utility and see if that shows you anything. If it does, try quick erasing the disc and then it should let you name the disc and pop up on the desktop. Make sure you don't have anything important on the disc first.

There's nothing on the disc, it's new and blank, but I will try it. ) Thanks!

Check your CD/DVD PreferencePane and see what it's set to do when you insert a disk.
