Powerbook G4 Aol And Tiger

since upgrading to OS 10.4.2 AOL ahs panic shutdown or freeze and requires restart of computer. have reloaded, upgraded aol several times with bad results, same. am now defraging hd and will retry. any suggestions? i also have the same on imac g5 and no issues except illustrato 10.3 will not open after install ( same on both computers)
