Osx Tiger Connecting to Server

Hi

I'm trying to connect to 2 different servers using AFP, 1 is a Xserve running OSX server 10.3.2 and the other is an Omneon video server.

The machine I'm using to connect with is a dual 2.5 gig G5 with Tiger 10.4.2. When trying to connect I get the message "unable to mount volume".
However when I connect to the same 2 servers using a G5 running Panther 10.3.9 it works fine.

Any help would be great.
