Corrupted Spotlight

My spotlight is severely corrupted. I have tried everything I have found to fix the problem but notthing has worked yet. Is there anyway to reinstall it. Awhile ago my disk ran out of space, could that have anything todo with it? any help is needed badly. Even the finder search won't work.
