Recover Deleted Local Mailboxes

Hello List!

Something really freaky happened today. I accidentally named a new local mailbox "." (dot) When I clicked the delete button, mail.app deleted ALL my top-level mailboxes. Woa, something you would expect out of Redmond. I can imagine what happened but of course i have no backup of my latest mails (about 1 years worth - yeah, old tale)
I know U*X to be totally unforgiving of accidentally deleting but my hope lies on mail putting deleted Mailboxes into some kind of Trashcan (it's not in the system trash) or maybe caching the stuff somewhere.

Please help :-(

cvak.
