Delete Dupes In Mail

I have many hundreds of dupe messages in mail that I would like to delete. Some of them only show up in the message listings and are not actually downloaded--no email displays. Some are just total duplicates of fully downloaded messages. Is there a way to have automator detect dupes and delete them? I assume this is taking up a bunch of hd space unnecessarily and i am hitting the limit on my pbook 1ghz aluminum!

thanks for the help!
