Sidebar Desktop Icons Are Back

Ok I thought by putting away the Virtual PC Startup item made the Desktop icons go away if you didn't read my 1st post when I go to Finder>Pref's and try to put a check beside the word Desktop so it shows up in my Sidebar it will not let me yet when I unstuff something or go to save if I look I have one Desktop icon that looks normal others are generic icons with the word Desktop beside it, and I have done an archive and installed and it's still the there the problem that is I've thrown away the sidebar.plists and the finder.plists and yet these Desktop icons are still there in a normal window mode the Desktop icon with the blue bkg is there but upon unstuffing something or saving a item to a window there they are several generic folders named Desktop
