| No sound while viewing video Ok, I got a movie and I'm trying to watch it in QT 7 Pro. I opened it and it said the "some necessary software may be missing" message. So, I've been searching everywhere, I downloaded the DivX5 thing, I got the Xvid component, I even got a beta DivX5 that supports QT 7. Still, the video plays and there is no sound. I checked the movies info and this is what is in the "Format" section. Generic MPEG-4, 640 x 352, Unknown 'ms ', Stereo, 48.000 kHz What is "Unknown 'ms '"? Could that be the problem? Thanks in advance for any help. |

| I believe that audio is Windows Media audio. AFAIK there's no way to play it with QuickTime. You may, however, be able to play it using VLC or MPlayer. If you're hellbent on getting it to play in QuickTime Player (I know I usually am), you might be able to convert it to mp3 or something using ffmpegX (see my sig). Edit: The Divx 6 beta is available at http://labs.divx.com. If this does solve your problem, please let me know. I'm not aware of any new audio codecs supported by Divx 6, so that would be news to me. |
