iTunes Problem Reading/Estimating VBR Times

Finally got my 70+ GB or personally ripped and encoded MP3s from my EMPEG over to the iMac but when iTunes plays them the times (length) is all wrong. Is there a fix to this?

Using iTunes 3.01 by the way.

I'm new to the Mac world and once I find a suitable replacement for Exact Audio Copy with Lame I'll be 100% satisfied.

Thanks!
