    Powerbook won't boot (not in safe mode either)

    hi

    my powerbook stopped working when i restarted it earlier this morning

    it boots up, i get the starting macintosh screen and the nothing, i can see on my AP it is connecting to the wifi okay although dropping ping packets every 20 seconds or so but i can ping it.

    the screen is blue and flickers from time to time, mouse is working

    i reset the nvram (which got the chime working again on booting up)
    when logging in safe mode it ask me for my password which i enter and 10 seconds later the password prompt comes back, i reset the password to blank but same thing happens. when entering an incorrect password the login window bounces so it know the correct password

    i have ran a couple of file repairs in both single user mode and my powerbook dvd install discs. the error that comes up when repairing is

    reserved fields in the catalog record have incorrect data

    and

    invalid leaf count
    (should be 8 instead of 560)

    results of 2 volumes
    1 HFS voume repaired
    1 volume could not be repaired

    does anyone have any ideas on what to do next?

    thanks

    Either get and run DiskWarrior;
    http://www.alsoft.com

    or reformat the drive.
