Corrupted priviledges

My Software Update will not allow me to download anything cos it says i need administrator (that's me) or higher (same password) priviledges.

Now, Norton Live Update is the same, stating the same thing.

i have done everything to clear the problem, even what bobw says, and in single user mode i just get a "Invalid extent entry (4, -3234)" message repeated forever.

Disk First Aid echoes this message and says it has repaired the disk but hasn't. Norton doesn't even show the drives.

I am running 10.2.2 0n a b+w G3 and have had no problem like this for eleven years (since 7.5.1 i think it was)

PLEASE can anyone help me?

I've had problems with privileges too before

what i did was boot from os X installation cd, selected disk utilities from menu on top and selected fix privileges (dunno exactly what but something like that )
fixed my problems...
