| my imac (dalmation) had a flashing questionmark,i got passed that, I am able now to boot from a cd and ran diskwarrior, everthing seemed fine, I started in single user mode and ran fsck, it reported everything was ok, THE PROBLEM... diskwarrior reports that my hard drive does not appear on the desktop, when i reboot i get the mouse arrow (which jumps back and forth to a spinning color wheel) but i still only get a blue screen, no desktop icons, does anyone know why, if so how do i get my desktop back? any help would be much appreciated, thanks, pidgeon |

| It sound like the Finder is crashing and restarting over and over on ya... this can be caused by anything from a strangely-named file on your Desktop to a complete system malfunction. Most likely it's a file on your Desktop with a funky name. Look for any files on your Desktop (probably have to do this in single-user mode) and either rename them, back them up and delete them, or just delete them -- then try booting again. If that doesn't work, report back and we'll try something else!
