| truth is, there is a way to get the pw or reset it w/out the cd, but it requires mucking around in unix in s-user mode, and exsteive unix and hexadecial knowlege, and another computer. i have seen some web articales on the subject, but none that flat out tell you how to do it, just that it can be done. i looked becasue someone else needed to know as well, and that was all i found.

| Those are discs that shipped with another Mac and are unlikely to work. The retail Tiger DVD is jet black with a light silver grey X. You need the retail DVD.

| Hi to all I have the same problem, but a lil bit different ... When I press and hold C, it starts and when it must boot, it just freezes, and I can see pixels gone wierd ... And when I press and hold Option button, it shows me Hard Drive and Mac OS install CD 1, I click on CD, and right arrow, then I see grey apple, and after ~5 sec appears grey forbidden image ø .. and freezes like that  P.S. This is PowerBook G4 Any help apreaciated ! |

This CD was burnt with CloneCD image (.img and .cue files), which image was backed up from a Mac OS X CD ! Can you tell me if it is possible to burn the .dmg file (DVD image of Mac OS Tiger) with any of Windows applications/softwares ? As I have not got another Mac with DVD-RW here Thanks again, beq |

| I know it, but I already got the image file (from the licenced Mac OS Tiger DVD of this laptop from my friend who had it), so need just to burn it ... But don`t know which software to use to burn it in Windows ! That`s all  |
