Dual display-30" HD and 23" Cinema

I'm very new to the Mac environment so please forgive any ignorance. I've recently been handed the Mac support in our IT dept. I have a user that runs the above displays off of a Radeon 9650 in 10.4. Other users can achieve max resolution on both displays, just not this final one. One lady said that the formaer Mac support tech had to do something to enable the max res. on hers. I want to say the one in question will only go to 1920x780. That may not be exact but somewhere close. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

As far as I know, you cannot run the 30" Cinema Display and another display at the same time off of any one, single graphics card, because the 30" display uses a dual-link DVI connection, whereas the other displays use a regular DVI connection:

http://www.apple.com/displays/specs.html

It says on that page that to use a 30" Cinema Display with any other display requires the addition of another graphics card unless you're using the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500:
Quote:
Any new dual- or quad-core Power Mac G5 supports two Apple Cinema Displays, including dual-link DVI for one 30-inch model. Support for two 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Displays requires two dual-link DVI ports, available in configurations with the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 or by installing an additional NVIDIA GeForce 6600 card. Support for more than two displays requires installation of one or more additional NVIDIA GeForce 6600 cards.
Does the computer allow the maximum resolution on the 30" Cinema Display when it's the only display connected?
