I work in IT support at my company, one of our users has a Mac runing Mac OSx Tiger.
She has had various issues over the past but one that has come apparent of late is very strange.
If the Mac is connected to the Lan she can use Outlook web acces etc fine and can attach files, however when she goes home and tries to add an attachment via outlook web access it wont do it. If she uses her broadband or a dial up account it is the same, we had access to the machine today. On the lan it works fine, when we connected it to our external ADSL it would not allow us to adda an attachment, if connected via dial up it would not owkr either. We have used safari, firefox, camino and various other browserr otions to access web based email account and under no situation apart from being on the Lan can we add attachments. We cant use entourage locally cos of other errors which is why she uses OWA, however as stated only on the LAN can she add attahcments, i even accessed my hotmail via her machine on a ADSL account and i couldnt attach an attachment.
We have disabled the local firewall buitl into Mac osx and the added norton client to no avail..

Any ideas or anyone with similar problems

Regards

MisterMe will become famous soon enough
Your colleague is probably not completing the attachment process. It has two steps. She has to first locate the file on her system and load it into the Exchange web client. Then, she can attach it to her message. If she fails to complete Step 2, then the file is not attached.

When she comes into work tomorrow, show show your colleague how to properly attach files using the web client. There is no need to spread FUD here.

Thanks for your reply, the user as is our IT team very adapt at carrying out the attachment process.
it is not just the user we have all tried to carry the process out, no matter what browser ro web based email client we use, when we click on the attach button it just does nothing.
If the machine is connected to the LAN it works fine, only when it is connected to a dial up or broadband does it fail to attach files.

As for FUD, i didnt realise that posting questions relating to technical issues was spreading fear uncertainty and doubt ?

Regards
