Did 10.2 already _have_ the sidebar? I think not. But in Panther and Tiger, items can simply be added by hand or using the list in Finder Preferences.
A friend of mine is using 10.2.8 and his Sidebar icons are missing below the divider (the divider line is also missing).
e.g. Music, Pictures, Applications etc..
I can't remember how to get them back in there, but I suggested making an alias of the missing icons from his User folder and dragging them into the Sidebar, but this didn't work.
Any ideas please?

Thanks, you've answered the question.
This guy usually works in my office where he uses 10.4.4, so he is used to the Sidebar.
Today he is working in a clients office using 10.2.8 and phoned me asking how he could get the icons back into the Sidebar. The way he described it (with mounted drives), it sounded like Sidebar.
On calling him back just now, after reading your message, he laughed and said "Of course, I'm just looking at the column listing, there is no Sidebar!".
So well done on remembering that fact fryke![]()
Glad I could be of help.![]()
