Wouldn't have thought that on a brand new machine.

The default installs often aren't perfect. The permissions often need a repair. I personally do a clean install as soon as I pull the machine out of the box.

I've received at least one laptop with a borked OS install out of the box. I've taken to wiping/reinstalling the OS & all included software after initial setup. |
