DVD Player not working on Intel Core Duo

mmm, has anyone managed to play a DVD on their new intel imac?

If i put one in the drive the icon doesnt show up, and dvd player tells me "Supported Disk Not Available"

s'ok, found the answer on the Apple Support.

Repair Permission on the Hard Drive and it fixed it. Wierd, I've only just got the mac out of the box.!!!

The default installs often aren't perfect. The permissions often need a repair. I personally do a clean install as soon as I pull the machine out of the box.

I've received at least one laptop with a borked OS install out of the box. I've taken to wiping/reinstalling the OS & all included software after initial setup.
