Have been using DSL connection with G4 mac running OSx v3 for quite a while no problem. Since a few days ago I am unable to get on the web or get emails. Appears to be a DNS issue since I can access some sites by entering the IP numbers. (can use same cable connection with a PC notebook with no problem). Tried following instructions on Apple support site, with no success. Any suggestions?

'Any suggestions?' - consider contacting (by phone) your ISP, and requesting new DNS address(es).

Try entering 199.199.195.5 into your DNS Servers field in your network settings. This is not a permanent solution, but would tell you right away if you have a DNS problem. If it turns out the everything works properly with the address listed above entered into your DNS, then contact your ISP to find out what's going on with the DNS. Perhaps your modem needs to be configured with new DNS server addresses. For example, if you are a Qwest DSL user, you might need to enter Qwest's new DNS servers in your DSL modem.

I tried that and it worked, so I called my ISP and they gave me new DNS numbers. It works fine now, thanks!
