Problems sending mail (Gmail account) through Mail.app

I am having problems sending email from my gmail account through Mail.app.

I have followed the configuration instructions on gmail.com (enabled pop, set incoming server to 995 with SSL, outgoing server to 587 with SSL, I'm using password authentification and m username is my full email address @gmail.com) and still Mail.app keeps telling me that there is an error with smtp.gmail.com. I am receiving emails without any problem though.

Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do to fix this problem?
