Is it possible to set download programs to download onto an external HD?

Basically I want it so that when I plug the HD, and launch a download program, it downloads straight to the external HD. Can this be done?

sure. question answered. unless you're talking about a specific program and you have a problem with that... well: we can help you with FTP clients, web browsers etc. What we CAN'T help with are P2P programs, because of the board rules. (Read them...)

Basically - 'Convert', select the application's 'application name, Prefererences...' menu item, and look for where the downloads are to be, or can be, saved.

This applies to 'any' application [whether deemed inappropriate to discuss, or not] capable of permitting the user a selectable local (internal or external) download location.
