| Preview vs Acrobat PDF setting? My powerbook used to save all PDFs in the Preview.app icon and file format, but recently all PDFs are showing up as Adobe Acrobat icons, which I don't want to lauch to view a file or print it. Where are the system settings to have all PDFs (downloaded from a broswer or created from the print menu) to be created as Preview icons? (I know that I can drag a Acrobat file on to Preview, but that is not the solution I'm looking for). Thanks Jake |

| You could locate a single '.pdf' file; do a right button click ('<control> single button click) - on the file and select 'Get Info' from the contextual menu [or select 'Finder's 'File, Get Info' menu item ('Command I')]; go to 'Open with:' (clicking on the disclosure triangle - to make it point 'down') and from the popup menu select 'Preview' (or the 'Other...' menu item - and navigate to the '/Applications/' folder and select 'Preview', and click on the 'Add' button); and finally - click on the 'Change All...' button and the respective displayed window's 'Continue' button. This action will remain in effect, until MacOS X hiccups and breaks the file - application association. |
