| Mac Mini as powerfull as a 2.41 AMD 64 chip? My dad is finally thinking about getting rid of his PC now that the intel macs boot Windows. I offered to help because he might give me a deal on his iMac.. anyways, currently he has a PC with 896 MB of RAM, and a 2.14 AMD 64 3300+ processor. How do you think that this will compare to a top-of-the-line mini? He also has a 2 Ghz PPC iMac that he tried to migrate to, without success, which I think would smoke the mini. I'm thinking that the mini will be slower, if only because of disk speeds. Also, is the hard drive in the mini a laptop-type hard drive? Would it be a better idea to just spring for an intel iMac? Thanks for any help. Another idea: use a firewire drive?

| i would advise the full iMac core duo. it'll be far more comparable in speed and flexibility.
