2 Things

Hello All,

I need help with 2 things:

1. I have moved a .xps file on to my desktop and no matter what I do I can not delete it. Every time I try to delete it or move it to the trash it says 'the operation cannot be completed because the item "Electric.xps" is locked'. Does anyone know how I can unlock this item or delete it?

2. Does anyone know of any os x freeware that is available that can convert a movie that is in .mkv format to another format that can be burnt to dvd? I am currently using Toast and it just doesn't recognize it.

BTW I am using a G4 powerbook with the latest version of Tiger.

Any help on either or both of my problems will be much appreciated.

1. Select the file, choose "Get Info" from the File menu, and uncheck the "Locked" box.

2. ffmpegX and VLC should both be able to do it.
