    itunes on the move

If i spend hours ripping my cds' onto itunes then I purchase a new IMAC-thanks apple for reducing the price-do I have start all over again with a blank itunes library ? Or do I have to make a list of the songs and redo ? or is there an easy way of transporting the songs NB I have a huge Library but many special playlists and it is the playlist I am more concerned about

Just copy them over to the new machine... either via network, or by burning data CDs/DVDs with the songs on them, then add them to the new iTunes library.

You can also copy over the iTunes database .XML file to retain playlists and what-not. In fact, you can probably just grab the entire "iTunes" folder in your ~/Music folder and copy that over.
