OS 9 on iBook G4

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post here!

I purchased an iBook G4 in February from Apple. Currently I run OS 10.4.4, I also have an OS 9 install disk. I' am interested installing OS 9 on a separate partition and having Tiger on another; but Apple says that newer machines can't start up in OS 9. Is there away around this or am I stuck with OS X only?

if apple says that os 9 will not load, then thats it, it will not load. it does not have the device drivers required to run the hardware. what reasons do you have to want to boot into os 9? if its for some apps, have you tryed running them in classic mode yet?

Yes, I have tried classic. I just wanted to see what OS 9 was like; I guess I will have to buy a used iMac or something. I thought maybe there was a hack or something to prevent me from having to shell out any cash.
