G5 running quickbooks crashes when printing

My old G4 is acting as a server for two other newer macs in our home office. The G4 is maxed out with 1.5Gigs RAM and currently has a mirrored 250GB drives. My Hp office jet is hooked up to the G4 and the other two macs are printing through the g4 to print.

The G5 is running Quickbooks and when I got o print, the app crashes. I have had other programs crash--but that has seemed to go away. The quickbook version is Quickbooks pro 6.

The printer is connected to the G4 via USB.

Questions:
Is the crashing of the QBooks app related to the app or is it related to the printer??
Is the printer a (HP office jet 6210) causing the crash somehow?
If the USB connections are faulty on the G4 would that cause the problem. I also can''t seem to scan. Half the time the printer is not being recognized. And I have to reset the printer as a default.

Help!!
