Headphone plug front/back

Hi,

I have a little inconvenience with my headphone jacks on my PowerPC G4 (on Tiger):
I use Harman-Kardon (Sound Sticks II) speakers which have a 3.5mm (1/8") stereo plug. So far so good...

However at some times I share my office with a colleague and would like to use headphones connected to the front headphone jack. However, when I plug in the headphones, they don't work, I assume because the back jack has a higher priority than the front one. So I need to dive under the desk and unplug the speakers to get my headphones to work.

Is there any way to swap this around (apart from switching the plugs), so the headphones, plugged into the front, cut off the signal to the speakers?

Thanks!

Rick
