| There are many threads on this subject. Just search for 'turn off startup sound', for example. Here's an app that should help http://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~arcana/S.../index.en.html The simplest way is to leave your Mac on, and simply put it to sleep when not in use. I realize that's not always practical, but many Mac users seldom shut their Mac off.

| But what about on an Intel-based Mac? I also want the startup sound to be turned off, and I followed your link plus quite a few others. Unfortunately, all of the ones I found only work on PPC Macs, but mine is Intel-based. Does anyone know of a startup-sound-turner-offer that works on an Intel-based 10.4 MacBook Pro? Thanks. |
