Hi, I've had this problem for a little while now, every time I startup my iBook it goes through the startup process (slower than usual, I might add) and gets past the loading screen to the blue screen then just sits there. I can move the cursor but it shows no sign of progressing toward the desktop screen. I managed to make it to the desktop once, only to have the above happen, just with a different background. I have about 2GB of space available (out of 30GB max,) 768MBRAM, 800MHZ. I do not currently have the startup CDs with me (just moved) and I've seen threads with similar problems telling the person to download an app, but as I can not even get to the desktop, that is not an option for me. Anyone able to help me? Thanks, Rich |

And you should have a minimum of 4.5GB (15%) of free space on your drive. Having a hard drive without enough free space can cause problems like data corruption/loss and hard drive failure.
