Entourage not recognizing attachments Entourage displays attachments in received messages as winmail.dat instead of as .doc .xls .ppt etc. The same thing happens in my new mac.com email account. How can I get the attachments to start appearing with their correct file types? Is there a piece of software to open the winmail.dat attachments that I already have in emails that I have received?

I use Entourage 2004 every day at work. Among its many problems, this is not one of them. Do you have the problem with mail that you send, mail that you receive, or both?

This is a known issue with Entourage not recognising emails sent in rich text format. The freeware application you need is TNEFs Enough, which you can find with a search in a few Mac forums, including on the Microsoft Mac page. My question: does anyone have an AppleScript that executes either as a rule or from the Entourage Script menu to open TNEFs Enough and expand & save the files in Winmail.dat? Thanks in advance.
