QuickTime stopped working in Internet Explorer

I don't understand...

If I go to the Apple Powerbook Ad page I get told that I don't have the QuickTime plugin.

http://www.tomnjeff.com/misc/public/...ugin_error.pdf

If I go to the QuickTime Preferences Panel I can see that a) I have the Plug-in enabled and b) Update QuickTime reports that I AM updated. (I have 6.1...)

http://www.tomnjeff.com/misc/public/...T_Settings.pdf

What's the deal?

Is there some other way to download this?

Check your Internet Plug-ins folder in /Library folder for a file called QuickTime Plugin.plugin. All browsers that use Plug-ins use this folder. Check for the same file in your USER/Library/Internet Plug-ins folder. You may have an older one there. Check file info, you should have newest one (for vers 6.1) in the /Library/Internet Plug-ins, delete an older one, leave newer one, make sure it's only in /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder. That should take care of problem that occurs if there's 2 diff versions found

" QuickTime stopped working in Internet Explorer"

One more good reason to get rid of MSIE.
More seriously, a reinstall of the plugin is recommended. As well as a reboot.

Hmmm... The plugin looks right.

Mozilla 1.2 reports that it is there and working.

Both Mozilla and IE view the movie correctly if you simply paste the .mov URL into the Address bar...

None of the Apple pages with embedded movies work...
