Apple Remote Desktop 3 Questions hi, just got a few questions about apple remote desktop 3.. I have osx 10.4.7 installed on my desktop at home, with my firewall forwarding the ports for ARD to my desktop. When I am on my new macbook pro, running osx 10.4.8 (not sure if the versions matter) at a different location, whether it be at work, etc.. outside of my house, I can connect using ARD from my laptop to my desktop, view / control, etc.. BUT, when I want to copy from desktop at home, to my laptop to grab a file, it says "Copy to all Failed". its the administrator account on desktop, admin account on laptop, cannot copy between. I think it has something to do with the task server, but not sure.. can anyone help me figure this problem out? I was new to the installation of remote desktop, so I wasn't even sure what a task server was, until now. And i cant find anywhere for the settings to change it if i have to. thanks for your help

It sounds like you are not using an administrator account to run ARD. If you go to Apple Remote Desktop > Preferences and click on the security tab it will show you what you can do as a non admin user and can be changed by an admin from there.

I only have 2 accounts on both laptop and desktop. I would assume both are admin accounts, and yes, I double checked those options in preferences and still does not work.

Double check that at least one of the accounts is admin on both machines and use this one. Under System Preferences > Sharing > Apple Remote Desktop make sure that account is selected from the list and all options are checked.

ok the accounts are both admin, i think it was an issue with all options being checked or something. It's fixed now. Thanks.
