Won't Scan?

I have an HP 1210 all-in-one and Using HP photo and imagin director when I try to scan a picture it opens up the HP Scan and i get an error message saying "Unable to connect to device." so I click OK. Then it says "Unable to communicate with TWAIN data source." So I click OK. And then I can't scan. Yes it's plugged in. What's wrong?

Consider downloading and installing the 'HP PSC 1200 Series - Mac OS X v10.3 and v10.4 (Universal)' software / driver(s), obtainable from HP.
