| Cannot Unmount Blank Ipod Photo disk Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site and look forward to contributing in any way i can. but of course, i'm starting off with a problem i'm having. lol. I Have an Ipod Photo and the other day my playlists and music folders showed up blank. I then plugged it in (macos X.3.9{work}/X.4.?{17inPB1Gig) it didn't mount and eventually crashed. Using Disk utility, i found that i couldn't do the normal erase, but was able to "zero out all data" erase and get it to actually mount to the effect that theoretically, all i had to do now was restore... BUT, in order to do so i would have to unmount the disk. and this is now my issue. Once Mounted, The blank ipod just plain refuses to unmount. Cmd+e doesn't work, dragging it to the trash doesnt work, Unmounting from disk utility fails suggesting i close any applications or files that might still be open... in fact only rebooting either the ipod or the mac itself trashes the disk. So my question is: How do you force an unmount? or how do i get around and/or solve this unmounting issue? |
