Need to uninstall mac os 10.03

Hi, I made a big mistake installing mac os 10.03 without os 9. I cannot download anything because I do not have a startup disk for 9, or os 9. With that said, I need to uninstall os 10.03, I put osx disk in hoping it had a uninstall button, no luck, disk will not mount. Thanks I have a rev a imac with 256 ram, with NO os9 installed.

About the only way to "uninstall" any operating system is to format the drive. Or, you can do an Archive and Install with OS X if you need to preserve your applications, documents, and your user account.

You can purchase OS 9 at a great price here:

Thank You nixgeek, As it is now-without OS 9 I cannot do anything. Disk format will not work because it is looking for OS 9 startup disk to work, I do not have OS 9. Absolutely nothing works.
I just need to get rid of os 10 altogether. And reinstall my very workable OS 8.6. This archive thing what is it and how does that work, if my computer can do it. thanks

That only works with OS X and newer. You'll need an OS 8.6 or OS 9 installation disk in order to reformat the drive and install that OS.

Is you network set up for DHCP? If so, then you need to head to the Apple menu at the top left and go to Control Panels-->TCP/IP. In there, you'll see two drop down lists: one for the interface to use and the other for how you want to give the Mac an IP address. Set it to DHCP, close the window and OK any confirmation windows, and you should be good to go.

Thank You nixgeek, you are right on the button. This site is the cat's meow! OK now I have a new problem. Everytime I want to reinstall all my firmware's that are a SD card, computer will not reboot!! I try a disk repair and it repairs it but still no reboot. Then reinstall OS and all in fine again until I put in SD card and try to install firmware. Problem rises because SD card will not quit. A force quit does not quit the sd card either. I gave some thought to dragging SD card to the trash, but that scares me! Any idea's. Thanks again

Yes, you have to drag it to the Trash. Weird that ejecting a device means trashing it in the older Mac OS (I got used to that many years ago when I started on the Mac, but yeah it doesn't make sense). Thankfully, when you do that in OS X you get the reassurance that it's going to be OK when the icon changes from a Trash can icon to an Eject icon.

But yes, whenever you are done with some sort of removable media like a USB stick or an SD card, you have to drag it to the "trash". This way it finishes writing any data to the removable device before unmounting it. Unplugging it willy-nilly will cause data corruption. Thankfully, this won't bring down an OS X system but that wasn't always the case with OS 9 and below. Even in Windows you have to "safely remove" the device from the system tray on the bottom right of the task bar.
