Front Row on External monitor

Front Row on External monitor

On my MacBook, I can get an external monitor to work, but I cannot get videos to play on Front Row. Neither video podcasts nor quick time videos will play. The audio comes through but not the video. These same videos work fine on front row when on the primary monitor.

To get front row to be on the external monitor, I close the lid of my MacBook and then wake it with the Apple Remote.
