FinalCut Studio 2

is it anywhere mentioned officially how many cores can FCS2 use? Ive hear unofficially that FCS2 can use all 8cores on the octo! Is that true?

Yes it can, they were demoing on an 8 core Mac Pro at NAB.

Specifically it mentions Compressor so I hope other applications will also use as many of the cores as they can.

Thanx for the link, true specifically it mentions Compressor, only that, but no info on FCP6 alone huh?

I haven't found anything on FCP 6 yet. For most things it's not too hard on the CPU if your source settings match the sequence settings so I'm not sure how much benefit you could get. Doing HD 4:4:4 might be but I haven't had the pleasure of that yet.
