| FinalCut Studio 2 is it anywhere mentioned officially how many cores can FCS2 use? Ive hear unofficially that FCS2 can use all 8cores on the octo! Is that true? Last edited by zoranb; May 14th, 2007 at 03:52 PM. |

| Yes it can, they were demoing on an 8 core Mac Pro at NAB. http://macenstein.com/default/archives/586 Specifically it mentions Compressor so I hope other applications will also use as many of the cores as they can.

| I haven't found anything on FCP 6 yet. For most things it's not too hard on the CPU if your source settings match the sequence settings so I'm not sure how much benefit you could get. Doing HD 4:4:4 might be but I haven't had the pleasure of that yet.
