| Can't update from 10.4 to 10.4.7 I just acquired this G5 with two hard drives in it. I used Disk Utility to erase one hard drive and installed Tiger 10.4 from my install dvd. After copying files from another computer, I attempted to update the system to 10.4.7 and when the installer gets to the "install" window, it won't let me go further. I get the "!" on both hard drive icons and it says "You cannot install Mac os x update (Power pc) on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." The update is titled MacOSXUpd10.4.7PPC.pkg. I've also tried to install a MacAlly keyboard driver and I get the same results, so I don't think it's a corrupted upgrade file. I've run permissions repair but don't know what else to do. Can you help? Thanks, --spiderartist |

| That update is for 10.4.6. You need the "combo" updater version which works for _any_ version of 10.4.x instead of just the one before the updater came out. Best get a newer one, though. 10.4.9 has been out for a while.

| You should download the "Combo" version because it's brings a 10.4.0+ system straight to 10.4.9 Here is the 10.4.9 Combo Update. Install this and it will bring you straight to 10.4.9. Here is the 10.4.7 Combo Update is you really want to go to that.
