Using a Dell 1815dn multi-func as a scan

I havd downloaded something from Dell called MAC_Driver_1815dn. I have installed the TWAIN driver. Now what?
The printer is on my LAN.
I can print to it.
PC users can use it to scan documents which they receive over the network. They have some app that lets them configure the scanner/printer with a password for their use.

How do I do this on a MAC?

Sounds like you've got what you need at the Mac end, but I suspect you'll need the machine hosting the printer to be configured correctly (if it isn't already). Note that often Mac versions of software that is primarily written for PC's often end up as poor cousins, lacking features. I wouldn't be surprised if the remote scanning function is missing from the Mac version in this case. But good luck!
