Intermittent audio problem after upgrade to Leopard

    Hi,

I just upgraded my G4 powerbook from 10.3.9 to 10.5 (and then 10.5.1), and I've noticed that the sound clip I hear when sending mail (a sort of swoosh) is now sometimes choppy. Then today, I played some video clips (via QuickTime Player 7.3.1) that were just taken with my Canon Powershot and the sound is unreliable -- sometimes it plays ok, but then another time the same clip has the chop (often at the beginning) or I hear no sound, or the sound starts suddenly in the middle of the clip. Before the upgrade to Leopard, I never had a problem playing clips from the same camera on this computer.

Any insights? My system config is given below.

Many thanks for your time, and may the sun shine on your weekends,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

How much RAM do you have? Have you repaired permissions after the 10.5.1 update?
Do you have any Quicktime / DivX / Xvid etc addons?

Giaguara, thx for the reply. Odd, seems my sys info did not post.. Answer is 768 MB ram. Have not repaired permissions; running that now. On addons, have DivX 5.1 downloaded but don't believe it's installed; could be wrong. (I ended up having to do an "erase and install" for 10.5, then copied apps and such back from backup.)

In any event, will let you know if repaired perms fixes things. Thanks!
