    Question 10.5.2 mail won't load

    I open mail and it just hangs. I have to force quit and restart and THEN it loads! This is a new problem in 10.5.2. (I have NO plugins installed)

    Any ideas???

    Try re-indexing Mail. open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal) and type: sqlite3 ~/Library/Mail/Envelope\ Index vacuum index;

    Plus try to throw out Mail Preferences in /YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist and see if that helps.

    After the re-index or the preference delete? The re-index should speed up Mail.

    I might have typed the command wrong for you. So here is the original Macworld article where I got the tip.
