Cybershot movies > iMovie

I have iLife 08 (with iMovie 08) and I also have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 7.2 mp camera. When I film clips on my camera, i can import them into iPhoto and watch them without any problems. However, when I open up iMovie, I cannot import or access the movie files anywhere on my computer. When I have my camera linked up and I click 'Import from Camera' in iMovie, it tells me there is no camera connected. What should I do?

Use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to dv format if the video files are muxed MPEG1 or MPEG2. This article has instructions on how to find out if the video files are muxed.
