Selecting Junk icon in Tiger Mail causes crash

Does anyone have any ideas as to why identifying a new message as Junk in the Inbox of Tiger's Mail would cause the Mail program to freeze-up? This feature worked fine in Jaguar but not since updating to Tiger. Thanks for any suggestions.
