iMac partition vanished. Unable to boot

I have a duel boot mac/XP hard drive.

Today my Mac partition vanished. There were no problems last night. I have tried to repair the disk using the leopard boot disk utility but it will not let me select the option.

There are a number of data files that I need. Is it possible for me to download some boot software and do this myself? Or will I have to send my Mac away?

I only need 2 folders.

Documents and Pictures. The rest I can live without. I don't care about restoring Leopard. I just need this data back then I can do a fresh install.

Boot with alt (option) pressed down. Can you see your hard drive on the list? If so, try to select it and boot to it...
