...problem with Preview

Ok, so here's what happens... I have a picture that I would like to open from my desktop, but when I double click on it nothing happens. After I double click on it, I see at the top left where it says "Finder" flickers, and it says "Preview" for a split second, then goes back to "Finder". I went into my hard drive, and found the application "Preview", and tried opening it. The same thing happens as before. What do I do to get the application to work?

Hi Zigawag.

Try this. Go into your Home Folder -> Library -> Preferences and find a file called com.apple.Preview.plist. Move it to the Trash. Try opening Preview again. Does it open now?

btw...it's just pronounced "Randy". The 3 is silent. For no good reason.
